A very recent survey by Deloitte acknowledged what most already know… that recommendations from friends and family are still very influential.

Ask just about any replacement contractor or remodeler and they’ll tell you referrals are one of the best sources of quality leads. We all know why, too… People trust referrals from family and friends. It’s a simple fact.

But are you doing the most to get referrals? Do you have a process in place to generate consistent referrals?

One of the most difficult steps in a referral program is follow-up. It’s important to follow up with your customer to get recommendations. You must also have reminders to reach out to the referred homeowner, who may or may not be ready to start a project.

One home improvement company in Arkansas was very inconsistent with their referrals until they put a process in place that required them to follow up with the referrers and their referrals.
